Now here's one that is very suited if you're just starting out with Pop-Piano.
Yes, I know guys. It's been a while. Quite a while. I wanna start by saying thanks for all of you that have been eagerly waiting and kept faith. Those of you that shot me messages asking, pleading, BEGGING for new tutorials. And especially, those of you that have already thanked me right after I put the first bit of newness up (being this very tutorial)! Much appreciated. Really.
It's not to say that I have been doing nothing. In fact, I've been working -and unfortunately because of that crashing- HARD. After some major set-backs, both personally and on the professional end, the moment came when it was just too much.
But let's not linger in the past, all is good now. Awesome even. I'm BACK! :).
Here's the first breath of life of the new and improved Piano Couture. Right before my period of silence I've already been hinting some of the changes and improvements that were on the menu-to-come for this website.
The first real big and official announcement that I have for you guys now: my NEW (well actually, fully revised and updated 2nd edition, but hey, it's new!) book / course on playing Pop-Piano: 'Hack the Piano' is set for official release on March 20, 2015 . Also, the new website, which, apart from looking way better (at least I think so), holds a lot of new goodies for both learning, loving and living Pop-Piano, will go live on that date.
You can get a taste of the 'feel' of the new site, subscribe to the pre-launch guest list & as a bonus, get the first few chapters of the NEW 'Hack the Piano' -which is a complete intro to Pop-Piano in itself- for FREE here:
I'm really fishing for opinions and feedback too, so if you'd be so kind as to shoot me your thoughts after reading it so I can use / implement them in some last minute revisions, that would be awesome.
Sharing that page with as many of your friends so they can take a look too would be much (much!) appreciated too.
Onto the tutorial.
Not much to say about that really. A very popular song that is featured in the blockbuster movie 'Selma' entirely made up out of a set of 6 chords that are almost all basic triads. Just beginning to learn Pop-Piano and love John Legend / Common / Hiphop tracks / Selma? This one is for you.
Check it out and let me know what you think!
Cheers, Coen.
P.s. Has anybody seen the movie? Is it worthwhile?
